Established in 1988, Cygnet provides a wide range of health and social care services for young people and adults with mental health needs, acquired brain injuries, eating disorders, autism, and learning disabilities within the UK.
With Cygnet’s highly dedicated social care team of nearly 3,000 employees who support more than 800 residents and service users across 74 residential, supported living, nursing home and day services, it is expanding its care and expertise with the acquisition of Bryn Y Wawr and Clynsaer, two specialist care services in Carmarthenshire, and The Old Vicargae in Berkshire, all formerly operated by Oakview Care Services.
Bryn Y Wawr, in Llandeilo and Clynsaer, in Llandovery, each provide essential residential care and support for up to 10 adults with learning disabilities, autism, and associated complex needs. The Old Vicarage, in Hungerford, is registered for up to 13 residents.
Hazlewoods Corporate Finance Director, Rich Pitt, and our specialist team provided Cygnet with tax and financial due diligence, and acquisition advisory services.
Gareth Williams, CEO of Cygnet’s Social Care Division, said: “This expansion strengthens Cygnet Social Care’s commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support for individuals with care needs across the UK.
“[The three homes] align seamlessly with Cygnet’s ethos of empowering individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives.
“We look forward to working with the dedicated staff teams to build on their success and the difference they have made already to their residents. Together, we will continue to provide exceptional care to some of the most vulnerable members of our society, helping them to lead happy, fulfilled lives in environments where they feel safe, valued, and supported.”
Hazlewoods Corporate Finance team are strengthening our relationship further with Cygnet by supporting them on other acquisitions as part of their ongoing growth strategy.
Rich Pitt commented: “It was great to work with the Cygnet Social Care team on this, representing the second acquisition in quick succession for the wider group, with more active opportunities in the pipeline. We are excited to continue to support Cygnet as it continues to expand and solidify its position as one of the leading providers of health and social care services across the UK.”
