About Us

Supporting our community

We’re proud to come together and support the communities we live and work in. Every January we select a shortlist of charities for our teams to vote on and decide which good cause we’ll raise money for over the coming year.

For 2024/25, our Charity of the Year is Emily’s Gift, which won an overwhelming majority of our teams’ support.

But our people have big hearts and lots to give, so as you’ll see they’re not the only charity or good cause to benefit from our support this year.

Our Charity of the Year

In 1995, Julie Kent and her husband Bernard’s first daughter Emily died of a brain tumour when she was just three years old. Since then they have thrown themselves into fundraising for children with cancer in Gloucestershire.

The aim of Emily’s Gift is to raise £500,000 to fund the employment of a psychologist for children having cancer treatment and their families on the Emily Kent Unit (paediatric oncology) at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The funds raised by Emily’s Gift will secure the post for 10 years.

Partnerships like this change the world

Everyone at James Hopkins Trust was thrilled to be chosen as Hazlewoods’ charity of the year, partnerships like this truly change the world for charities like us and we couldn’t do what we do without the practical and financial support of local companies, community groups and individuals.”

Fundraising and volunteering

Although Emily’s Gift is our chosen Charity of the Year, we give all our employees a half day off each year to support a local good cause of their own choice. If you have any volunteering opportunities you’d like us to know about and possibly take part in, please get in touch.

Local community sponsorship

Hazlewoods people are involved in many local clubs and societies outside of work – representing a broad array of hobbies and sporting interests.

Every year we sponsor a number of local clubs which our staff are involved with – this year including Apperley Cricket Club, Steelers Netball Club, Southside Star FC, Westbury-on-Severn Cricket Club, Redmarley and Tibberton United Football Club, Painswick Cricket Club and Kingsdown Lions Football club to name just a few!
